The Tax Administration Office is required by law to list the owner’s name exactly as it is listed with NCDMV. We must receive request for pro-ration and necessary documentation within 12 months of the date license plate is surrendered to NCDMV. There must be at least one full month remaining in the vehicle tax year upon date of surrender. Pro-rations are figured according to the month in which the license plate is surrendered to the NCDMV. Pro-ration for any reason requires the Receipt of Tag Surrender (form FS-20 from NCDMV) and proof that the vehicle is no longer in your possession or that you have registered the vehicle out of state. You will not be billed on the vehicle that you transferred the plates to until you renew the tag next year. If you no longer own the vehicle listed on the bill, but you have transferred the license plate to another vehicle, the tax bill should be paid in full as is. The newly acquired vehicle will not be billed for property tax until three (3) months after the next tag renewal. If you transfer the tag from the billed vehicle to another vehicle after the tag was purchased or renewed, the original bill remains in effect for the full twelve (12) month billing cycle and must be paid in full. A copy of the out-of-state registration and Form #FS-20 must be presented to the Tax Collector within one (1) year of the date the plate was surrendered. If you have moved out of state, registered the vehicle there, and surrendered the NC plate to DMV, you may request a tax pro-ration. Form #FS-20 and bill of sale must be presented to the Tax Collector within one (1) year of the date the plate was surrendered. If you receive a bill for a vehicle you no longer own (and the plate has been turned in to DMV) you may present a bill of sale or other transfer document and the “Receipt of Tag Surrender” (Form #FS-20) from the NCDMV to the Tax Collector for a possible tax pro-ration. This value may be appealed to the Tax Assessor within thirty (30) days of the billing date shown on the bill. The value is determined as of January 1 of the year that the tax becomes due. The tax value is based on average retail. The taxing district is determined by the residence location of the vehicle’s owner on the date that the registration was applied for or renewed. A tag that expires on July 31st and is renewed September 1st will incur a $20.00 late fee and 5% interest for August and 0.75% interest for September.A tag that expires on July 31st and is renewed August 16th will incur a $15.00 late fee and 5% interest for August.A tag that expires on July 31st and is renewed August 10th will incur a $15.00 late fee and no interest. There is currently a grace period of 15 days for interest but, there is no grace period for the late fee. The DMV will charge a late fee in addition to interest when a plate has expired. The exception to this is all vehicles with a permanent tag are considered personal property and must be listed each January. Division of Motor Vehicles, you will receive a Tag & Tax Notice about 60 days prior to the vehicle’s registration expiration. The North Carolina General Assembly passed a law effective July 1, 2013, to create a combined motor vehicle registration renewal and property tax collection system (Tag & Tax System.) In doing so, the law transfers the responsibility for motor vehicle tax collection from the 100 counties across North Carolina to the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). History Lodge's front entrance, facing east, offset view showing doors The area formerly included two other lines of cabins, the budget cabins and standard cabins, since removed. Original paneling complements the stone fireplaces. On the interior the roof trusses are exposed. The cabins have log-framed porches with log railings. The cabins have rubble stone chimneys and corner pilasters, with log slab siding on the main wall exposures, simulating full log construction, complete with chinking. Five buildings contain four lodging units, and ten contain two. The satellite cabins, called deluxe cabins, are to the southeast of the lodge. This unique shingling pattern is on the original cabins as well as the main lodge buildings, and has been replicated with each re-roofing of the complex, using the original pattern, as a way to keep the craftsman's trademarks of the original builders and Underwood's design. This creates an optical illusion that the roof is warped, or in motion. The lodge's roof is notable for its unusual shingling pattern, originally designed by Underwood, in which the lower edges of the horizontal shingle courses form irregular, undulating moiré or wave-like patterns across the roof. A basement underlies much of the main level. Fireplaces of rough rubble stone are found in the lobby, where the firebox is constructed in a pointed arch, and in the auditorium. The lobby features milled timbers with Arts and Crafts detailing. The dining room and auditorium are open to the roof with exposed log trusses. The main floor of the lodge comprises the lobby, a dining room, a small auditorium, a gift shop, kitchen and administrative and utility spaces. The lodge is capped by a heavy, steeply-pitched shingled roof with clipped gables and shed dormers. The lodge is entered by a long porch fronting the entire lobby, whose roof rests on a 52-foot (16 m) long log beam supported by paired log columns. The central portion of the building dates to 1924, with the addition of the north and southeast wings taking place in 1926. The two-story lodge is built on a stone base with intentionally oversized log framing, creating a massive, rustic appearance. Designed by architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood, the lodge is an excellent example of National Park Service rustic design, and the only remaining completely original structure that Underwood designed for Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. (1) Fully or partially suspended its operations due to a governmental order limiting commerce, travel, or group meetings due to COVID-19 (Employer is eligible to claim the ERC for the suspension period), or To receive an ERC, an employer must qualify as an “eligible employer.” “Employer” here includes all members of a controlled group under IRC Section 52 (e.g., for a parent and subsidiaries, based on a greater than 50% ownership test) or Section 414(m) (affiliated service group) on an aggregated basis. The newer Act also added new ERC eligibility opportunities for 2021 Q3 and Q4 for “recovery startup businesses” and “severely financially distressed employers” – read more below – and extended the limitation period on ERC-related assessments from three years to five years from the date of filing the applicable Form 941. However, the ERC will be a credit against the Medicare tax for the third and fourth quarters, as opposed to its previously being a credit against the Social Security tax. The newer Act extended the availability of the ERC to the third and fourth quarters of 2021, each with its own $10,000-per-employee maximum amount of Qualified Wages/Qualified Health Plan expenses. Now, as of the March 11 passage of the American Rescue Plan Act, the ERC is available for all four quarters of 2021. Significantly, it made it so that an employer that did not take an ERC for 2020 because it or its controlled member received a PPP loan may now be eligible for ERCs for 2020. The December Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 provided for both retroactive applicability of the ERC for 2020 and extending and expanding the ERC for the first two quarters of 2021, and liberalized the ERC requirements for 2021. However, if the employer or any member of its controlled group received a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan, the entire controlled group was ineligible for an ERC. įor 2020, certain employers whose operations were fully or partially suspended due to a COVID-19-related government order or whose gross receipts for any 2020 quarter were less than 50% of their gross receipts for the same quarter in 2019 were eligible for a fully refundable federal payroll tax credit called the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) for certain wages paid in 2020 Quarter 2 (for ERC purposes, March 13-31, 2020, is considered part of 2020 Q2), Q3, or Q4. In early August 2021, the IRS released additional ERC guidance on matters including whether the wages of a majority owner of a corporation and their family members can be ERC-eligible how various calculations apply to businesses not open in 2019 whether forgiven PPP loan amounts and other COVID-19 relief grant amounts should be included in the "significant decline in gross receipts" test and more. The tire size calculators above are based on standards such as the ISO/ETRTO (European Tire and Rim Technical Organization) tire size specifications, which define tire size as a tire width and rim circumference in millimeters. The calculator returns the expected circumference in millimeters (as used by most modern cycle computers), centimeters (as used by older cycle computers), and inches (as used by older cycle computers (used by some cycle computers).
